Frequently asked questions.
*NEW* Wholesale Partner
We have officially starting suppling our baked goods to DayDrink here in Iowa City. You can now find a small selection of our baked goods every Friday and Saturday this winter season!
P.S. We are currently are not looking to take on any additional wholesale/retail clients. Here in Iowa we have a sales cap on how much food we can sell that is refrigerated or wholesaled and adding this account will unfortunately get us to our maximum.
Where Can I Buy Your Products?
We bake year round! From May-end of October, you can find us every Saturday at the Iowa City Farmer’s Market from 7:30AM - noon. The market takes place in the Chauncey Swan Parking Garage at 405 E. Washington Street.
In the off market season (November - April) we switch to selling through what we call our ‘home bakes’. For the weeks we are baking, ordering is offered Monday-Thursdays here on the website, with pick up from our home on the east side of Iowa City on Saturday mornings. For November and December, we do a Thanksgiving Bake and Holiday Bake.
At the moment, the market/Saturday bakes are the only place that we offer our baked goods. We made the decision in 2024 to close down taking any orders outside of these bake days due to such a strong increase in demand at the market. We unfortunately do not have the capacity to keep up with orders and the market anymore.
To answer the common questions of do we plan to expand to more bake days or a storefront in the future: yes! While a storefront is a bit off for us, we are hoping to start adding in a second bake day soon.
Frequently Asked Questions
Notes about allergies:
Please note that we use gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, and nuts on a weekly in our kitchen and we fully list all allergy information for each product on our website and on our labels at the farmer’s market. Please note that at the markets we do place all of our items together in our glass pastry case, where they are not individually wrapped so cross contamination is possible. We do recommend if you have a severe allergy to one of these items or any allergy to nuts to not consume our products.
Gluten:
At the moment the only item that we offer weekly that is gluten free by recipe is our almond brownies. We only recommend this products to those who are avoiding gluten due to dietary reasons and not for anyone who has a gluten allergy or especially celiac disease. Even with cleaning, cross contamination is not something that we can entirely eliminate.
Eggs:
While we don’t have many items that are egg free (crumble bars and english muffins) in our regular market set up, there are quite a few items that we can produce without eggs with notice. These include our butter croissants, chocolate croissants, and hand pies. If you would like any of these items without eggs, please email us (or message us on Instagram) prior to that weekends bake and we can use an alternative ‘egg wash’.
Nuts:
Beyond the items that we produce that physically contain nuts, you will notice that we list nuts as a possible allergy concern for any of our items made with chocolate as all of the chocolate that we use (Valrhona, Callebaut, Cacao Barry) always comes with 'possible trace nut contact allergen' listed on their packaging (as they are produced in the same facilities that also make their nut products such as nut pastes and pralines). This is why nuts are listed for both the chocolate croissant and all of our cookies when there is no physical nuts in the recipe. If you have a nut allergy, especially during the summer when we have all of our products in the same case together, we do not recommend consuming any of the products from our bakery.
Note on pan sprays: If soy is listed as an allergen in the recipe, we use PAM spray which is a mix of vegetable and soy oils. If there is not soy in the recipe, we use either olive oil or pure avocado oil.
